Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is an ancient modality that takes its origins from Traditional Chinese Medicine.

It involves the placement of heated glass cups onto the skin in order to create a vacuum (which can be achieved by means of heat or suction). When the cup is left on the skin for a few minutes, localized blood stasis is formed, helping tissues to heal.

Therapeutic benefits of Cupping therapy include releasing fascial restrictions, breaking up the scar tissue, improving circulation, and promoting tissue healing. Cupping massage can also be used for boosting immunity and improving asthma. It is also a useful therapy for respiratory tract infection as it aids in expanding the bronchioles and releasing excess mucous from the lungs.
